For small teams doing the work themselves

The tool you cannot afford to buy, built by your own staff.

Three weeks, one organisation, up to three people. You leave with a working tool — grant matching, funder reporting, donor acknowledgements or a volunteer rota — and nobody has to renew a licence to keep using it.

Funders will usually pay for this

Capacity building is a recognised grant category, and most funders would rather pay once for a tool you keep than every year for software you rent. We give you the one-page case to put in the application.

Built on what you already report

The reporting build works from the figures a US nonprofit already has to file. The grant matcher reads live federal calls from the Grants.gov public API. Nothing here needs data you do not already hold.

It outlives the person who built it

Small teams lose tools when the one person who understood them leaves. You leave with the source, plain written notes on how it works, and two colleagues who were in the room.

Before anything else

Beneficiary data stays where it is.

You will build against synthetic records, not your real case files. The people your organisation serves did not consent to appear in a training exercise, and for many teams that data carries obligations that outlast the project. Week three covers what has to be true before the tool sees anything real, and what you have to be able to tell a funder or a board about it.

What it costs

$2,400per organisation, up to three staff

Priced per organisation because a per-seat fee prices out exactly the teams this is for. Three people from one team learn more than three strangers, because they go back to the same problem.

February, and eight organisations only. Deliberately clear of the year-end giving season, when no small charity has a spare hour.

What you leave with

  • A deployed tool your team runs, with no recurring licence.
  • The source and plain-language notes, so the next person can pick it up.
  • A finished report or rota built from your own real numbers.
  • A written answer for your board about where data goes.
